Maria Srsnová *1985

She was born in Ruzomberok, Slovakia, where she attended basic music school. Her teacher was Miroslav Kmet. Between 2003 and 2004 she studied at Zilina Conservatory. Her violin teachers were Bohumil Urban and prof. Lubomir Kudju.

During her initial music school studies, she took part in a variety of competitions (2nd and 3rd places). As a conservatory student, she was given a special award at the 2002 Slovak Inter-Conservatory Competition. At the Music Corporation Competition held by the Anglo-Czechoslovak Trust company in May 2003, she took 3rd place.

In January and April 2003, she recorded for the Studio Mladych Radio. In February 2004, she performed Wieniawski’s 2nd Violin Concert along with the State Chamber Orchestra in Zilina. She attended the Master Performer Courses held by Janacek’s Academy in Brno.

Maria Srsnova now studies at Brno Janacek’s Academy in Bohumil Smejkal’s violin class.
